Subject: 2019-2020 AMCD Newsletter Welcome

Greetings, Executive Council!
I hope this email finds you well and that you had a wonderful holiday. I am honored to be serving as the new Newsletter Editor along with our past Graduate Student Representative, Ashlei Rabess, MA, APC, NCC.
Hopefully, you all received the call for submissions that was posted to ACA Connect yesterday. I am sending this follow-up email to the Executive Council, as many of you have previously reached out about submitting announcements/updates on behalf of your committees/task forces.
As previously stated, the next edition of newsletter will be published during the month of September 2019. This electronic newsletter serves as our way of keeping our membership informed about current events in AMCD, as well as current events in the field of multicultural counseling and education. The newsletter will be published quarterly (in September, December, March, and June) and it will contain information/messages related to the following:
President’s Message
Vice Presidents
Regional Representatives
Other Board Members including Standing Committees and Special and Continuing Committees
Writer’s Consortium
Graduate Students’ Corner
Member Accomplishments/Highlights
International and Multicultural Counseling and Development
Member-submitted Articles and Announcements
Additionally, AMCD publishes announcements about grants, fellowships, and award programs available to AMCD members. We also welcome your feedback and ideas for other topics of interest to the AMCD Community. The deadline for submissions for the September newsletter is Sunday, September 15th, 2019 at 11:59pm EST. Please see below for instructions on submitting items.
Ashlei and I look forward to serving and working with the members of AMCD! Please do not hesitate to contact Ashlei (arabess1 at student.gsu.edu<mailto:arabess1 at student.gsu.edu>) or myself (rcokley at uga.edu<mailto:rcokley at uga.edu>) if you have any questions.
Items for "The Multicultural Counselor" should be submitted via e-mail to amcdnewsletter2019 at gmail.com<mailto:amcdnewsletter2019 at gmail.com>, with the subject: AMCD E-Newsletter Submission. Submission items may include: cutting edge counseling strategies and techniques; personal reflections; a review of a multicultural counseling book or other resource; an announcement or description of an upcoming event, conference, or awards/celebrations; and photos of counseling activities or events. Please limit featured article submissions to 500 words or less and other items such as announcements, events, and activities to 150 words or less. Please send your submissions in Word format or images in JPG. All submissions remain the property of The Multicultural Counselor. No returns.

Sincerely,
The 2019-2020 AMCD Newsletter Editors
